The Chinese tech giant and world’s second-largest smartphone producer has finally removed the Mi logo around the globe from its products.
One of the first gadgets that removed the branding was Mix 4 smartphone and the Pad 5 tablet series – launched on August 10, 2021. The Samsung-rival company wants to introduce itself as a brand by its own name, rather than only two words.
The tech giant has been using the original Redmi and Xiaomi logos since its development in China, instead of Mi branding. The company has now decided to use this strategy in its global market as well.
Initially, there’re rumors that Xiaomi is ditching the Mi logo, but after the confirmation by the spokesperson of the company, things are getting clear. Therefore, we’ll be seeing the new phones with the branding logos of Xiaomi and Redmi instead of Mi.
The news broke by the XDA-Developers initially, after that the company itself claimed of removing this mentioned branding. After that news, the Chinese tech and electronic giant gave a press release regarding the logo and branding of the smartphone manufacturer.
To recall, before this announcement, the General Manager from Xiaomi announced that all the physical stores namely “Mi Stores” will now be called “Xiaomi Stores” all over the world.
Furthermore, we can expect more things from the company at the launch event of the 11T lineup that will be held on September 15. The 11 T series is going to come with 120W fast charging, flagship processors, and 120 Hz screens.
Despite changes in the logo behind the branding, the official and parent brand logo of Xiaomi will remain the same containing “mi” coated with an orange squarish- circle.
Besides this, the other sub-brands of the Chinese smartphone company will be printed the same as Xiaomi and Redmi on the devices rather than Mi.
To sum up the discussion, it means Mi is no longer the identity of Xiaomi phones. Perhaps, it is nothing, but just two words in the phone industry. Hence, we’ll be seeing the phones with Xiaomi and Redmi logos respectively.
