Apple’s first offline store in India has been delayed due to Covid Pandemic. The physical store for India was announced last year, whilst the Online store is still delivering its services. The Cupertino-based company has recently confirmed the statement to Gadgets 360.
While the Apple Online Store is still active and had double the business in the December quarter. The online business has received a massive response from customers. In that regard, Apple decided to grow its business even with an offline store as well.
However, due to Covid 19, it couldn’t be the right time yet, that’s why it’s been delayed. CEO Tim Cook earlier expressed his view and thoughts regarding the physical store, that we are aiming to have a native presence in the Indian market. Just like the Online Store, people buy Apple devices through a native online shop, rather than buying on other e-commerce franchises.
Cook also revealed the income made by the Apple Online Store earlier in the December quarter, he mentioned that Apple has doubled its business in India. Furthermore, he stated that “ I don’t want somebody else to run the brand for us”.
Regarding the physical store, it is not clear when they have plans for its development. Till then Indian customers could buy Apple products from Apple Online Store in India.
