Intel is entering the gaming industry by developing its own GPUs with the name Intel Arc. However, before this, the processor giant used to borrow GPUs from other companies in order to install them on their laptops and computers. The upcoming GPU from the laptop giant covers both hardware and software for high performances in the graphics of video games or maybe in the videos alone.
According to the blog from the company, this GPU will make its debut in the first quarter of 2022. Besides this, they have given it the codename “Alchemist”, which was previously known as DG2. Additionally, the processor-making company revealed the codenames of future generations’ GPUs under the Arc brand. The future codenames of graphics processors include:
- Battlemage
- Celestial
- Druid
Intel’s Arc brand graphics units will be available for both desktops and laptops in the Q1 of 2022. The key goal to launch these graphics cards is for the competition against its arch-rivals AMD and Nvidia. As it will be the first GPU in its lineup, therefore, we can’t say much about the performance.
Intel also launched a teased video on its platform that showed the games, including PUBG, Psychonauts 2, Metro Exodus, and Forza Horizon 4 running under the GPU of Intel Arc. If you’re a fan of Crysis Remastered Trilogy and worried whether or not it will be played under these graphics, then don’t need to worry it can run this video game. Isn’t this amazing? Which games did you want to play under Intel’s Arc GPU? Let us know in the comments section.
According to sources, Intel’s Arc GPUs will be capable of the following features:
- Mesh shading
- Variable rate shading
- Video upscaling
- The real-time ray tracing
Apart from these specs, the company also promises to give AI-accelerated super-sampling. After the feature of AI-accelerated super-sampling, it seems like the company has its own competitor to Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology.
