Twitch banned the popular streamer Dr DisRespect aka Doc in June 2020. It was sudden and shocking news for the rest of other streamers and his fans all over the world. The reason for the ban is still unknown. But, the effects of the ban caused a famous streamer to lose many sponsors like Activision.
The 38-year-old- has been a popular figure in the gaming community for a long time now. He started playing games on streams from early 2010. In fact, people have known him for his unique and charismatic personality.
In the recent live stream, Dr DisRespect expressed his anger and frustrations over the creator code controversy. Due to the ban, he is no longer an affiliated partner with the Call of Duty Franchise. Thus, he will not be able to play the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War early like other popular streamers such as Nickmercs, Vikkstar123, and TimtheTateman. Discord has also cute ties with him. But, both the companies didn’t release any statement on this matter.
With over 4 million followers on Twitch before the ban, Doc has moved to YouTube. Since then, Dr DisRespect gained over 1 million subscribers in 2 months and had over 500,000 people watched him on the 1st live stream. As expected, Activision will not allow the association to happen anywhere near in the future. Many other streamers have already criticized Twitch ban policies with many questions still unanswered.
