Redmi Note 7 to launch in India soon with 48 MP Camera, teased by Manu Jain & Lei Jun

Redmi Note 7's Indian launch teased by Manu Kumar Jain and Lei Jun of Xiaomi

Redmi Note 7 launched in China on 10th January. The phone is already popular for it’s 48MP Camera, a very strong body. And, of course, it all comes at unbelievable prices starting at just $150 (Rs. 10,000). We recently gave you 6 good reasons to wait for Redmi Note 7’s launch in India. It seems Redmi Note 7 might launch in India soon. Some speculate that it could launch as soon as February after Manu Jain and Lei Jun of Xiaomi teased via Twitter.

Redmi Note 7’s Indian Launch teased

Here’s the Tweet, Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP of Xiaomi shared on his Official Twitter account:-

This is an interesting Tweet with a very interesting caption. If you haven’t been able to decipher it yet, Manu has posted the image and the text upside down. Here’s what it reads when rotated, making it readable to the human eyes:-

We’re gonna turn this industry upside down.

Amazing #48MP is coming!

So, with an upside down image of him and Xiaomi Founder, Lei Jun holding a Blue Redmi Note 7, Manu’s teasing the phone’s launch in India. This is because Manu is also the MD of Xiaomi’s Indian division.

Redmi Note 7 Launch Date in India

The Tweet doesn’t exactly say that Redmi Note 7 is coming to India. But, it was known as soon as the phone launched in China. This is because, India is a huge market, especially for budget phones. And, Xiaomi phones are currently the best sellers in India. So, it was only a matter of time before Xiaomi launched their 48MP Camera equipped Redmi Note 7 (on a budget) in India.

As for the exact launch date, we don’t have it yet. But, we can expect Redmi Note 7 to launch in India by February.

Redmi Note 7: Expected Price in India

Xiaomi doesn’t discriminate a lot when pricing their budget phones in Chinese and Indian markets. Surprisingly, their budget flagship, POCO F1 is much cheaper in India than in European markets. Guessing from the previous patterns, I believe Redmi Note 7’s price in India will be very similar to the Chinese prices.

So, here’s the expected price of Redmi Note 7 in India, considering Chinese prices for comparison:-

  • 3GB/32GB – Around Rs. 10,000
  • 4GB/64GB – Around Rs. 12,000
  • 6GB/64GB – Around Rs. 14,500

If Xiaomi does launch the Redmi Note 7 at those prices in India, it will definitely turn the whole industry upside down. We’ll get to know soon. Xiaomi has been discounting most of it’s older phones like the Redmi Note 5 and Note 6 recently. Maybe, they are preparing to launch the Note 7. I am also curious to see how much the Indian prices of their older phones will drop once Note 7 launches.
