Pixel 3 Lite Series is nearing it’s launch. The budget Pixel phones, Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL are expected to launch in May. Pixel 3 Lite XL was last seen on Geekbench with 6GB RAM. Recently, another listing of Pixel 3 Lite XL has appeared on Geekbench with 4GB RAM.
We were expecting to see the first Pixel phone with 6GB RAM with the Pixel 3 Lite XL. But, this new Geekbench listing is definitely confusing.
Pixel 3 Lite XL with 4GB RAM & Snapdragon 710 SoC on Geekbench
Here’s a screenshot of the new listing:-
As you can see, the phone has been listed as “Google Pixel 3a XL” on Geekbench. The memory listed is 3595MB, which on a specs sheet means 4GB RAM. Besides Motherboard, you will also find the term, ‘bonito.’ Bonito could be the codename for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. Or, it could be the codename of Pixel 3 Lite XL itself. Let me remind you that the smaller Pixel 3 Lite has been codenamed Sargo.
The phone scores 1600 in Single Core Benchmark and 5171 in Multi Core.
I’d like to notify you that the above screenshot is of the listing that was posted on 30th January, 2019. Another similar listing was posted on 28th January too. Though the details remain the same on the two, the Single Core and Multi Core scores are better on the latest one.
Let’s compare it with the older P3 Lite XL listing that hinted at 6GB RAM. Here’s a screenshot from the previous article:-
The earlier listing had dubbed the Lite XL “Foxconn Pixel 3 XL.” The specs of the processor remains the same on that listing and the latest one. The only major change is the Memory. And, it’s obvious that the phones will launch with the latest Android Pie unlike Samsung’s budget Galaxy M series that launched with Android Oreo.
We can’t say for sure if the 6GB RAM variant of the Pixel 3 Lite XL was just a hoax. I am guessing Google will release two RAM variants of the P3 Lite XL, one having 4GB RAM and the other 6GB. We’ll keep you updated. Subscribe to us and bookmark us.
