However, Apple is going to shut down its outdated “My Photo Stream” services on June 26, 2023. As users used this service to upload their photos and would visit to see their memories. But as time p[asssed, it became outdated, and this urged Apple to shut it down for the convenience of its users.

Drawbacks of My Photo Stream Service

The following are the problems that a user encounters in My Photo Stream Service:

  • Manual selection of photos and saving
  • Storage of photos in non-original resolution and formate

So these were the reason that led Apple to introduce iCloud Photos in 2015. Now you can save your photos and videos in their original format and quality.

So before shifting to iCloud Photos, the user is advised to save their photos to their device library before the halt of service. Apple reassures its users that no harm will occur in shifting to iCloud Photos.
