Jio started a revolution in India with their services. Their phones – JioPhone and JioPhone 2 also were a huge hit with features like 4G and VoLTE on a basic phone. But, a recent leak says JioPhone 3 will be a touchscreen smartphone for Rs. 4500.
JioPhone was launched for Rs. 1500 in 2017 and JioPhone 2 for Rs. 2999. Both these phones had a keypad and were feature phones. Thanks to Beetelbite’s leak, we have a few details about the JioPhone 3 expected to launch in July, 2019.
JioPhone 3 Specs
Here’s a quick look at what JioPhone 3 will offer as a smartphone:-
- 5″ Touchscreen Display
- 2GB RAM
- 64GB ROM (Expandable with microSD Card)
- 5MP Rear Camera
- 2MP Front Camera
- Expected OS – KaiOS or AndroidGo
For a smartphone that costs just Rs. 4500, 64GB ROM is great. Moreover, like the earlier JioPhones, JP 3 will also come with special Recharge plans, that are usually cheaper.
As for the OS that the phone will have, we don’t have clear details. Rumour is that Jio might choose to go with KaiOS, the OS on the earlier JioPhones. Or, they might go for the lighter Android version dubbed AndroidGo.
