GoPro Hero 7’s new features

GoPro with the Hero 7 brings some new features that everyone is in love with already. Obviously though, Hero 7 Black is the one that gets all of those features. Here are some new innovative features on Hero 7 you should know about.

1. HyperSmooth Video Stabilisation

GoPro Hero 7 comes with HyperSmooth Video Stabilisation Technology. And, as the name suggests, the camera is able to stabilise videos better than ever. Many great reviewers have already vouched for this feature. Here’s a side by side comparison between the video stabilisation on a previous GoPro model (model not mentioned) with GoPro Hero 7 Black:-

Compared to a “previous GoPro,” GoPro Hero 7’s Stabilisation seems highly superior and is probably better than the previous Hero 6. But, being a Hero 6 owner, I don’t think my GoPro would be as shaky as the one shown in the video’s left section.

2. SuperPhoto

GoPro Hero 6 does take good pictures, but not great. GoPro hopes to fix it with Hero 7 which has HDR. And, GoPro Hero 7 can shoot some awesome pictures with SuperPhoto Technology regardless of the lighting. Below is an example of a photo taken without HDR compared to one taken with SuperPhoto capable Hero 7 Black:-

Look at how the clouds are just more realistic. And, how almost everything in the SuperPhoto image looks more realistic. But, this isn’t new to a person who has a Pixel 2XL or a OnePlus 6. Though, it’s a huge upgrade from Hero 6.

3. Facebook Live Streaming

GoPro Hero 7 Black also comes with Live Streaming technology. For now, it supports Facebook Live streaming. It just becomes easier with the GoPro app on your smartphone.

4. TimeWarp Video: Time Lapse on the move

TimeWarp on all the variants of GoPro Hero 7 allows you to create time lapse videos while you move. This is quite interesting and opens up various possibilities. With a Hero 7, now, you can capture more than just a sun set. Here’s an example video from GoPro’s website:-

Free 32GB SD Card

GoPro is giving a free SanDisk Extreme 32GB (UHS Class3) microSD Card with every GoPro Hero 7 – White, Black or Silver. Also, if you buy a GoPro Fusion, you get two 32GB SD Cards for free. This could be a limited time offer and might be available only if you pre-order.

Pre-order GoPro Hero 7 and Launch Date

You can pre-order a Hero 7 directly from GoPro’s website. From the Shopping Cart info on their website (as seen on the image above), it says Hero 7 will ship on or before 2nd October 2018. So, I am expecting Hero 7 to hit retail stores around that date. Please note that if you are outside the US, you might have to pay for shipping and customs duties. So, please beware of that.

Conclusion

GoPro Hero 7 has already been reviewed by many tech enthusiasts. Everyone says, Hero 7 is a worthy upgrade and is going to be a great competitor in the next gen Action Camera segment.
