Google patents a bezel-less phone. Is it Pixel 4?

We were expecting a notchless and bezel-less Pixel 3 from Google last year. But, that didn’t happen. Now, a Google patent hints at a bezel-less phone that could be Pixel 4.

The patent that leaked was found on World Intellectual Property Organisation’s website at wipo.int.

According to the patent, this phone virtually has no bezels and no notch. 91mobiles first shared a few images showing the notchless and bezel-less phone.

But, the image you see below is the updated one they shared recently. This one though bezel-less, sports speakers, both on the top and bottom much like the Pixel 3 and Pixel 2. But, I am not sure how that will work on a bezel-less display.

Another interesting thing is the absence of the front camera. Since, we don’t find a hole in the display, it’s not going to be an In Screen Camera like the Galaxy S10+.

The image shared earlier by 91mobiles also showed the rear of this mysterious phone. But, there are no signs of a slider for the Camera. We wonder where the Front Camera is going to be.

On the rear, we find the Single Camera with flash and Fingerprint sensor. The rear part is very similar to Pixel 2.

As for the Front Camera, I am guessing we’ll know soon as Google updates the patent images.

Apart from that a few other sketches of the mystery phone have also surfaced. The phone has a USB Type-C port on the bottom. And, much like the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3, doesn’t have a 3.5mm port.

The SIM Card tray is on the left, like Pixel 2. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL have them on the bottom. The volume to rockers and the power button are on the right side, like Pixel 2 and Pixel 3.

Conclusion

We can’t confirm when Google posted these patents on the WIPO Website. But, we believe it has been there for quite some time now. Anyways, it’s high time that Google cut down on the notches and bezels on Pixel phones. We expect it to happen on Pixel 4 this year around October.
