Cyberpunk 2077: 13 things we know yet

Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red’s new game shown of at E3 2018 has been the hype for some time now and due to obvious reasons. The trailer was just awesome. The game is set in the future with high tech weapons, post humans and what not. Moreover, it’s CD Projeckt Red’s next big game after The Witcher 3. While the trailer gave us a vague idea, Sid Shuman’s recent post on PlayStation Blog has much more to offer esp. after he watched a 50 minute live demo.

Cyberpunk 2077: Details and features we know

1. No more loading screens

It’d be great to see Cyberpunk 2077 with a vast open world and the ability of entering lots of buildings achieve this. It was recently revealed by CD Projekt Red that the game will load all of it’s components in the beginning and players won’t have to wait on loading screens. But, would this work on different specifications and on consoles? Let’s wait and watch.

2. First Person Shooter (FPS)

It wasn’t clear with the trailer and now it’s confirmed that, Cyberpunk 2077 will be an FPS game with an emphasis on gunplay. And, talking about guns, you might be in for a huge surprise.

3. It’s set in 2077

Obvious enough. It’s set in a city in America, a country which by 2077 lies in a state of chaos. And, Mega Corporations have taken over while gangs (possibly their pawns) rule the streets. Though, Mr. Shuman was quick to notice that old age technologies (by 2077) like newspapers and telephones coexisted. It’s basically ‘survival of the fittest’.

4. You will play as ‘V’

You will play Cyberpunk 2077 as ‘V’. V is an urban mercenary with a will of steel because he would do what others dare not even think of. So, you got a rough serious character to play in this RPG.

5. All of this happens in Night City

Night City? Sounds like a typical DC (Comic) city. So, Night City is where it all happens. It’s a 2077 city with “body-snatching scavengers,” thugs and augmented post humans. Though what everyone has in common is the high tech cyber modifications.

6. Customisability

You can change V’s gender, appearance and even the backstory that will change the course of the game itself. So, you are ought to get a real RPG experience set in the future.

7. V has an apartment

The game seems to remind you that you are stuck in Night City, but, atleast, hey, you got an apartment. You can visit to select or change weapons and gear. And, guess what, the game likes to keep it real because you got a street rep to maintain. So, when it comes to dressing sense and your street rep, it’s directly proportional.

8. Conversations

Just like Witcher 3, you can talk and converse, but Cyberpunk gives you options. You can either move the story forward quickly while talking or you can ask questions to know more about the game and it’s environment.

9. Hundreds of different weapons

Yes, CD Projekt Red promised hundreds of different weapons in the final game and they are customisable too! Mr. Shuman talks about a few weapons he witnessed, “an enemy-tracking smart rifle, forearm-mounted Mantis blades, a tech shotgun that could penetrate walls, and a ricochet targeting system.”

10. Hack into your enemy

It’s like Watch Dogs got into a time machine and went to 2077. You can sneak up and disable your enemies and hack into them. And, through them, you could open doors and maybe gain access to information stored in their memory.

11. Create 3D Models

The game has an inspection system that lets you create 3D Models to look for clues. While it’s not clear how this works, this is a very new concept and I can’t wait to witness it first hand.

12. Specs of the PC that ran Cyberpunk 2077 (Live Demo)

The developer released the specs of the gaming PC that ran the Live Demo. Maybe this would give you an idea of the specs requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 and as to what you might want to upgrade on your Build:-

  • CPU – Intel i7-8700K
  • Motherboard – Asus ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming
  • RAM – 32 GB, G.SKILL Ripjaws V, 2X16GB, 3000Mhz, CL15
  • Graphics Card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080Ti
  • SSD – Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2 PCIe
  • Power Supply – Corsair SF600 600W

13. A mixture of GTA and Watch Dogs

While Mr. Shuman compares Cyberpunk 2077 to Max Payne, Blade Runner and many other games, I think of it as a mixture of GTA and Watch Dogs. It’s just my opinion. Let me know in the comments what you think.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the game as soon as it launches on the PS4. BTW, read the new article on why PS4 Slim is better to buy in India. And, connect to us on Social networks to stay updated.
